Great classic, good service

I ordered the Classic Fruit Cake, a 2 lb loaf, from Janeparker.com. The ordering process was pretty straightforward; I found what I wanted quickly and checkout was easy. I got a confirmation email right away. It arrived about five days later, which was exactly what they said it would be. The packaging was secure, no damage to the tin. The fruitcake itself was excellent, really brought me back to how I remember it. It was moist and flavorful, just like the old A&P version. I had a question about storing it, so I used their contact form. They replied within a day with clear instructions. Overall, a very good experience from start to finish.

Consistently good quality

This was my third order from Jane Parker, and once again, they delivered. I've previously ordered the Classic and the Dark Fruit Cake, and this time I got the Sliced Fruit Cake for convenience. It was just as fresh and tasty as the whole loaves. Shipping was free this time, which is always a plus, and it arrived in four days, right on schedule. It's nice to know I can count on them for that familiar taste without any surprises. They're my go-to for fruitcake now.

Absolutely delicious fruitcake!

I just got my Chocolate Fruit Cake and it's AMAZING! I'm so glad I tried it. The flavors are incredible, and it's super moist. I'm already planning my next order, probably the Bourbon & Rum Fruit Cake next time. My family loved it too. I'm telling everyone about Jane Parker. You guys are the best!

Compared to Claxton, how do these stack up? Better, worse, just different?

G Greg 2 months ago
Jane Parker is way better IMO. Much moister and more flavor. Claxton can be a bit dry sometimes.

I'd say they're different. Jane Parker feels more 'classic' to me, with a richer texture. Claxton is good too, but I prefer Jane Parker's fruit balance.

Anyone know if you can stack coupon codes? Got a free shipping thing and a percentage off from the newsletter.

K Kevin 1 month ago
Nah, usually only one coupon per order at most places like this. I've never been able to combine them.

I don't think so, I've tried before and it just takes the last one you entered. Pick the better deal!

Just wondering, how long does it usually take for these fruitcakes to arrive? I'm in San Diego and need it by next week.

K Kevin Y. 2 months ago
For holiday orders, it can get a bit slow. Next week might be pushing it, depending on the exact day you order.

I'm in SoCal too, and mine usually arrive within 5-7 business days. If you need it super fast, you might want to look into expedited shipping if they offer it.

Are these the real deal A&P fruitcakes? Like, the exact same recipe and everything?

C Colin Nguyen 2 months ago
Yup, that's what they say! They picked up the original A&P recipe. Tastes just like I remember from way back.

Pretty much! It's the same iconic recipe that was popular at A&P. I think the company that makes them now bought the rights to the original.

Is the light fruitcake very different from the classic one? I'm trying to decide between them.

M Mike Silva 2 months ago
The light one is usually, well, lighter in color obviously, and often has more candied pineapple or citrus peel. The dark usually has molasses and darker fruits.

Totally different vibe. Light is more subtle, often with lighter colored fruits. Dark is rich, spices, and usually has those darker fruits and maybe some nuts.
